Austin Schermerhorn is a visual artist based in San Francisco, California. He uses traditional photographic media to explore the strangeness of our world and the interaction between humans and nature.
His work is especially focused on the traces of human action in the American West, as well as the innate tendency to project human emotions, dreams, fears, and visions onto the landscape.
He received his BFA in Photography from the San Francisco Art Institute.
